New Hope High School offers selected TEKS-based core and elective courses through guided and assisted independent study. Students at NHHS graduate by meeting the same LISD graduation requirements as the other high schools in the district.
Instructional delivery is primarily computer-based using Edgenuity. Because Edgenuity is web-based, students have the ability to complete coursework anywhere there is internet access—at school, at home, or in the community.
However, New Hope is not a work-from-home campus. Students are expected to attend daily and meet the same attendance requirements as every other LISD high school.
All coursework previously taken but not passed is recovered through the corresponding Edgenuity course online. Original credit courses are offered through blended learning experiences with teachers. Many teachers have developed their courses by blending Edgenuity activities with individual, small-group, and project-based learning experiences. Some courses utilize teacher-developed curriculum through their online Google Classroom; other courses are offered through the Texas Virtual School Network (TXVSN), including languages and other engaging academic electives.
In addition, some NHHS students choose dual enrollment and attend ACC or their home campus ACC cohort classes to complete high school and college credit courses concurrently. Students who are well on their way to completing a Career and Technical Endorsement when entering New Hope are encouraged to finish the endorsement in partnership with their neighborhood campus.
