Leander ISD's Vision is that "Every student is encouraged, supported, and challenged to achieve the highest levels of knowledge, skills, and character."
For New Hope High School application information and eligibility, please select the Registration option on the left side of this page.
Our most successful students are those students that are in attendance each day. If students want to reach their goal of graduating "on time", "with their class" or "early", then students must be here each day and making progress in course work daily.
Parents, please make sure that your student has good attendance and ask your student often about how much progress he or she has made in assigned classes. Your student can show you his/her progress in most classes by logging onto their Edgenuity accounts from home.

NHHS Spring Blood Drive
It is time for our Spring Blood Drive. This year it will be held on Friday, April 25, and, as usual, the commodious bus will be parked in the LMS parking lot for your donating pleasure.
The first appointment will be at 7:30 am and the last appointment will be at 2 pm.
Please contact Mrs. Dunlap (512-570-2216) with your first and second choices for a time (in fifteen minute increments) and she will do her best to accommodate you. You will need your picture ID showing your date of birth and you must not be running a fever or feeling like you are coming down with something dreadful or taking antibiotics.
If you have any questions about medications you are taking or if you are eligible to donate, please go to http://inyourhands.org for more information.
Family and friends of NHHS students and staff, come out and help us save some lives!
Effective Monday March 31st,students that have a negative balance on their lunch accounts will be given a cheese
sandwich until their accounts are current. We encourage you to keep your child’s lunch account up to date.
We want all of our students to have an enjoyable lunch; however, the cost of providing meals without payment has
become too great. We must enforce the District procedure to serve students a cheese sandwich when their account
becomes negative. If you need help paying for breakfast and lunch you can fill out a free and reduced application online or contact Amy Umland in the LMS cafeteria.
New Attendance Notification System in Leander ISD
As of November 2013, Leander ISD has implemented a new and updated system for contacting parents through the mail. This notifies parents of excessive or unexcused absences, informs parents about specific attendance issues and hopefully assists parents to avoid student truancies. The key purpose of this program and system is to work with our parents and students on the importance of regular attendance which gives schools the best opportunity to provide a quality education for all children.
The first truancy letter informs parents of unexcused absences as defined by Texas Education Code Laws. If absences continue and a second letter is sent home, parents will be asked to conference with the school administrator to review absences, work on solutions to address attendance issues, and discuss what may occur if unexcused or excessive absences continue. A third letter due to continued unexcused absences may require parents to appear before a Truancy Court Judge.
It is imperative that parents contact the school to excuse student absences within 48 hours and avoid unnecessary and frequent absences, arriving late or leaving early. We understand that there are certainly illnesses and circumstances where a student may have to miss school, but we, at New Hope High School, need and expect to have students attend every day possible. We have made a commitment to work with our parents to accomplish this goal.
Thank you for your efforts to have your child attend school on time and regularly each and every day. We know a majority of our students and families have good attendance habits and we appreciate the efforts that parents make in order to have this happen. If you have any questions regarding the new attendance system or your child’s attendance, please call or email Mary Bauer, NHHS Attendance Clerk, at 512-570-2212 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Work on scholarship applications and meet all deadlines.

Austin Community College Advisor at NHHS
Adam Saucedo, an advisor with Austin Community College (ACC), will be at New Hope High School once a month to assist students with college, career and financial aid options at ACC. Adam will be a great resource for our students to utilize!
Austin Community College Early College Start
Now is the time to begin thinking about Summer AND Fall 2014 semester classes at ACC.
Speak with Mrs. Parrish and/or Mr. Saucedo about the ACC Early College Start process and paperwork for this coming Spring semester.
Save yourself the stressful hassle of waiting until the last minute by beginning the application/registration process now.
The first step in making sure your student has the training and skills needed for a career is completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Things to do:
- Request a PIN for both student and parent through the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) website www.fafsa.gov
- Gather all 2013 Tax information for student and parent (bring along to the meeting)
- Consider filling 2013 Taxes early and electronically - this will allow you to use the "auto file" option on FAFSA.
Make it your goal to complete FAFSA as soon as possible. Financial Aid offices will begin to evaluate and allocate funds starting in the month of March. FAFSA may be completed at anytime, but waiting too long can result in funds being used up for the academic year before your student gets his/her share.
Bad Weather Guidelines
Attached are guidelines for NHHS parents and students to use when LISD delays the start of school or dismisses school early due to bad weather.

LISD students now have email accounts
Leander ISD will be providing email accounts for all students in grades 6-12 this semester as part of the Google Apps for Education. This Gmail account will be utilized by district and campus administration as well as by teachers in the classroom as a way of communicating and collaborating with your student. Proper electronic communication is necessary to be successful in this global economy and we now have the means to teach appropriate use of electronic communication as well as email and online etiquette.
High School students will be able to send and receive email communications from anyone inside or outside of the Leander ISD network. Middle School students will only be able to send and receive email from within the LISD domain.
Student emails will be in the format of:
## = last two digits of student ID
Password will be the same as student's school computer account password.
